Manager parts are a concept that come up for me consistently in therapy. They are basically the parts of me that are responsible. Responsible for keeping checklists and calendars and making sure that I’m doing what needs to be done for my life to function smoothly. They believe in alarm clocks and reminders and accomplishing to-do’s. They are critical to function, because I can’t just leave the playful parts in charge all the time. That’s what managers excel at: being in charge.
I need them, because I need parts reminding me to take care of business, and helping me to move forward in my life. However, sometimes mine get into extreme roles and team up with fearful parts to come up with problems that need solving.
